All. Blessed be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Fr Abilio. Dear brothers, we meet with joy in the Lord’s house to partake in this celebration, following Anna Forgach and Christian on the day that they propose setting up their home. This time is of singular importance to them. Let us accompany them with our affection and friendship, and with our prayers. Together with them, listen to the word that God will direct us today. Then, in union with the holy Church, through Jesus Christ our Lord, let us pray God our Father to graciously accept, unite and bless forever, these your servants who wish to marry.

Fr Abilio. Father, you have made the bond of marriage a holy mystery, a symbol of Christ`s love for this Church. Hear our prayers for Anna Forgach and Christian. With faith in you and in each other they pledge their love today. May their lives always bear witness to the reality of that love.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son who is God with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit.

First Reading

 A reading from the Song of Songs 2:8-10, 14, 16a; 8:6-7a

Hark! my lover–here he comes
springing across the mountains,
leaping across the hills.
My lover is like a gazelle
or a young stag.
Here he stands behind our wall,
gazing through the windows,
peering through the lattices.
My lover speaks; he says to me,
“Arise, my beloved, my dove, my beautiful one, and come!
“O my dove in the clefts of the rock,
in the secret recesses of the cliff,
Let me see you,
let me hear your voice,
for your voice is sweet,
and you are lovely.”
My lover belongs to me and I to him.
He says to me:
“Set me as a seal on your heart,
as a seal on your arm;
For stern as death is love,
relentless as the nether world is devotion;
its flames are a blazing fire.
Deep waters cannot quench love,
nor floods sweep it away.”

 This is the Word of the Lord.

All. Thanks be to God

Responsorial Psalm: Happy are they all who fear the LORD,

Happy are they all who fear the LORD,
and who follow in his ways!

You shall eat the fruit of your labor;
happiness and prosperity shall be yours.

Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine within your house,
your children like olive shoots round about your table.

Happy are they all who fear the LORD,
and who follow in his ways!

The man who fears the LORD
shall thus indeed be blessed.

The LORD bless you from Zion,
and may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life.

May you live to see your children’s children;

Happy are they all who fear the LORD,
and who follow in his ways!

may peace be upon Israel

Letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthias

  If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.  If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.

 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love

This is the Word of the Lord.

All. Thanks be to God

Gospel Aclamation:  Aleluia, Mozart

 Gospel:

Matthew 7:24-27

Gospel according to Saint Mathews

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Homily

Let us pray with confidence to the Father, in the words our Savior gave us.

All. Our Father who art in Heaven,

Hallowed be thy name,

Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done on Earth, as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

And forgive us our trespasses.

As we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Nuptial Blessing

My dear friends, let us turn to the Lord and pray that He will bless with this grace Anna Forgach now married in Christ to Christian and that through the sacrament of the body and blood of Christ, He will unite in love the couple. He has joined in this holy bond.

(All Pray silently for a short while. Then the priest extends his hands and continues)God, our Father, creator of the universe, you made man and woman in your own likeness, and blessed their union.
